Bluebox Corporate Finance advises on the sale of Tradmet Limited to Greenwich Metals Inc.

Bluebox Corporate Finance is delighted to have advised the shareholders of Tradmet Limited (“Tradmet”) on its sale to Greenwich Metals Inc. (“GMI”), part of the GMEA Commodities group.

Founded in 1997 by Mike Tradgett, Tradmet is a leading international physical trading and brokerage business specialising in non-ferrous metals. Operating across primary, recyclable and secondary metals markets, the business has built an excellent reputation over nearly three decades, underpinned by longstanding relationships with producers, recyclers, merchants and consumers across global markets.

Headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, GMI is an international commodities trading business specialising in non-ferrous and ferrous metals and raw materials. The acquisition represents an important strategic expansion for GMI, combining Tradmet’s established presence and expertise across the UK and European markets with GMI’s global trading platform, logistics network, financial strength and risk management capabilities.

The combination provides a strong platform for continued international growth, offering customers and suppliers broader market access, enhanced supply chain capabilities and an expanded range of commercial opportunities.

Mike Tradgett, Founder and Director of Tradmet, commented:

“Having built Tradmet over almost 30 years, finding the right home for the business, our people and the relationships we have developed around the world was extremely important to me. GMI shares our entrepreneurial approach to the market and has the international reach and resources to support Tradmet through the next stage of its development.

“Bluebox were instrumental throughout the transaction. Their ability to manage a complex international process, negotiate on our behalf and keep the transaction moving was invaluable. The team provided clear and pragmatic advice at every stage, and I am delighted with the outcome they have achieved for us.”

Jonathan Rich, Managing Director at Bluebox Corporate Finance, commented:

“Tradmet is an exceptional business which has been built by Mike over nearly three decades. Its reputation, deep market expertise and longstanding international relationships made it a highly attractive strategic acquisition.

“GMI represents an excellent home for Tradmet. There is a compelling strategic fit between the two businesses, and we believe the combination creates significant opportunities for future growth.

“This transaction also demonstrates the importance of looking internationally when identifying the right strategic acquirer. We are delighted to have advised Mike and the shareholders on the transaction and wish Mike, the Tradmet team and GMI every success for the future.”
